Merida's expertise in custom area rugs began more than 30 years ago, at a time when bound area rugs were not yet commonplace. The talented craftsmen in our Boston-based workroom specialize in custom rugs in all sizes, shapes, borders and edge finishes, allowing us to create a custom made rug that fits your space and your style.

Our diverse collection of bindings includes more than 300 options, from soft linen to luxurious suede – all in rich, beautiful colors to complement your custom area rug. Our custom rug workroom can also finish a rug with your material for an extra-special custom look.

Custom Made Rug

We don’t stock pre-made rugs. All of our rugs are custom made rugs unique to your project or home. When you order a custom rug we first select the roll and cut the correct size. Next we add the edge finish that you selected and apply it with the individual corner style that you choose. With all the combinations available there are literally well over 100,000 combinations for your custom made area rug.

Custom Size Rugs

On top of the multitude of combinations you can choose for your rug edge finish and corner styles, custom size rugs are our specialty. Whether you need to unique size or specific shaped cut-outs we can create a custom size rug to suit any design project.

Custom Color Rugs

Our custom made rugs don’t stop at edge finish and size; we also custom color many of our rugs. Wool rugs are woven in Fall River Massachusetts and so it’s easy to specify colors for your custom area rug. For our vegetable natural fiber rugs some custom coloring is also available depending upon the volume of the order.
