With their flagship St. Louis showroom standing at over 58,000 square feet, filled with several hundreds-of-thousands of textiles, and with two additional locations, KDR Designer Showrooms is a designer’s dream-come-true. To top it all off, they are curating not just a look, but an attitude that is at once versatile and inspirational. As such, they have something for just about everyone.

KDR Designer Showroom - Bali Natural Rug
KDR Showrooms operates off of their primary philosophy: create an atmosphere that engages and inspires designers. To do this, they carefully select only the finest pieces and purposefully choose colors and patterns that work well together to form a cohesive look that doesn’t blend together. This allows them to rearrange the space weekly to ensure a fresh, new and exciting experience anytime you visit.
We love how their showroom blends a traditional/classic look with just enough modern flair to give it personality and bring excitement. Their spaces are elegant and refined, yet livable with a touch of the unexpected. KDR makes an effort to keep things current and fresh, which is one of the reasons they selected Merida for their first foray in the rug industry. As KDR Sales and Marketing Coordinator Amanda Bauer says, “Merida was an essential part of KDR’s growth and an integral element in achieving our versatile, fresh aesthetic.”

The picturesque Hamptons have long been a favorite summer escape from the hustle and bustle of city life in New York. With the cool ocean breeze and miles of gorgeous sandy beaches it’s not hard to see why, but Sylvester & Co. at Home gives us yet another reason to want to sneak off to the Hampton’s this summer.

Nested in picturesque Amagansett Village, Sylvester & Co. at Home has been a favorite interior destination for locals since its opening in 2006, and it’s not hard to see why. Sylvester & Co. at Home does a brilliant job of curating a sophisticated space that at once feels clean and homey.

The stunning artwork that adorns the walls is a highlight of the showroom and the changing art gallery keeps us coming back for more. The vignette pictured above was expertly designed by Sylvester & Co.’s Beth Parks and Jessica Boo and was inspired by featured artist Elizabeth Dow and the beautiful soft blue palette she utilized in her paintings. To soften up the floors and bring in natural texture Parks selected a wool Basket Weave rug. As Parks said, “we want to offer our clients durable rugs that can sustain wear and this new collection fits the bill. We also love the fact that it can be customized to meet different clients needs.”
Parks and Boo have done a fantastic job styling Sylvester & Co. at Home – we feel more like it’s a home than a showroom space. We look forward to following their select artists and seeing how they change-up their vignettes to reflect new styles in the coming months.
This week marks the official launch of the highly anticipated Celerie Kemble by Merida rug collection featuring 9 all-new designs and 23 new SKUs. The partnership marries Kemble’s eclectic approach to design with Merida’s timeless, beautiful aesthetic making for a unique line of rugs that are full of life and rich with texture. A major inspiration and driving force behind the collection was an innate fascination with the art of bleeding color seen in ikats, watercolors, and in nature. This inspiration is carried throughout the wool, wool/linen blend, sisal, and abaca designs within the collection and is reflected through the expert color blending and irregular, organic shapes. Without further ado, we are happy to present to you the Celerie Kemble by Merida rug Collection.
Catalyst in Pink Grapefruit
CATALYST
This signature pattern was named for the energy and movement that it conveys. Inspired by the classic chevron print, this design is the ideal way to add excitement to and brighten up a room. Available in 6 unique colorways.
Available in two understated yet stunning un-dyed colorways, this design evokes elegant, imperfect linear stripes similar to those created by the traditional plough when tilling soil to bring fresh nutrients to the surface. The result is an almost wave-like soft stripe.
This ombre inspired pattern creates a subtle bleeding color effect that takes on a different look and feel depending on its surroundings and how light is cast on it. Available in 4 expertly blended color combinations.
This horizontal pattern is a fun play on bleeding color. The truly striking design has a wonderful sense of motion that seems both randomized and systematic at the same time.
The sole tufted pattern in this debut collection, Craze beautifully translates the art of color bleeding to a soft chevron pattern. The juxtaposition between the shag construction and the tailored woven Catalyst design play well off of each other in this collection.
Inspired by Celerie’s book, Black and White (and a Bit in Between), the Belted Stripe rug features a low profile weave that makes it sleek and elegant.
Very unique for Merida, this sisal pattern features an unstructured organic shape originally sketched out by Celerie herself. The bold texture is an ideal way to add interest to a space.
Inspired by the intricate, ornate designs seen in medallions throughout the world, this weave lends delicate texture that pairs well with both structured shapes and organic, rounded shapes.
This stunning jute rug was named after the cocoon like shapes that give it its unique texture. Subtle color variations give this rug depth and add interest.
Introducing three gorgeous new styles in our very popular jute collection. These unique designs feature both braided and woven constructions, crafted by hand or with a traditional wooden loom. With names inspired by the natural color and beauty of beaches around the world, our jute rugs mimic the flowing patterns of waves and sand dunes.
Koh Lipe in Bay
Koh Lipe features a new spin on heavy basket weave construction. Special jute yarns are hand-twisted to create the smooth, strong weft yarns that run horizontally. Each length of special jute yarn is hand made by twisting together selected jute fibers.
Koh Lipe in Gold
This twisted jute yarn creates a bold pattern and contrasts with the smaller, braided warp yarn adding depth and reflecting the different techniques that go into creating each jute rug. Like all of our jute rugs, Koh Lipe and Pattaya are un-dyed. The range in fiber colors is naturally occurring.
Pattaya in Summer
With a similar construction to our Bora Bora rugs, Pattaya is intertwined with more finely braided jute yarns. These rugs are hand braided from end to end without the use of any looms or machines, creating a truly unique final product. Additionally, at our Boston workshops we add a variety of finishing techniques to further customize jute rugs.
